Physical Education

“Physical fitness is not only one of the most important keys to a healthy body,

it is the basis of dynamic and creative intellectual activity.”

John F Kennedy

In PE we aim for all students to succeed and be physically literate in competitive sport and other physical-demanding activities. Our mission at B.G.G.S is for lifelong learning, where students experience enjoyment and are empowered to sustain a healthy and active lifestyle.  We provide a sequential Physical Education programme.  This is based on physical activities undertaken in an active, caring, supportive, and non-threatening atmosphere in which students are challenged and can experience success.

Our KS4 students have the opportunity to access an accredited Sports Leaders Award, and go out into the community to cultivate their skills.  Here at Bordesley Green Girls' School and Sixth Form, we firmly believe these skills are significant in the  personal development of our students,  and lay the foundations for resilience and confidence in later life. Learning extends beyond the classroom and students are encouraged to develop transferable skills such as teamwork and determination through extra-curricular opportunities.
